Провів нараду щодо нашої дипломатичної роботи для завершення війни і встановлення реального, надійного миру.

Міністр оборони України Рустем Умєров доповів про роботу нашої делегації та переговорний процес у Туреччині. Зустрічі 15–16 травня продемонстрували світові нашу готовність наближати мир і, відповідно, необхідність тиску на Росію заради припинення війни.

Фактично найбільшим результатом зустрічі стала домовленість про обмін військовополоненими у форматі 1000 на 1000. Зараз наша команда опрацьовує деталі обміну. Вдячний усім, хто допомагає.

Рустем Умєров як глава делегації в Туреччині доповів про конкретні деталі розмови з росіянами. Делегації України вдалось утримати розмову в достойних рамках. Усі спроби російських погроз були відкинуті. Україна наполягає на необхідності повного й безумовного припинення вогню для збереження життів людей і щоб дати необхідну основу дипломатії. Таке припинення вогню має бути достатньо тривалим і з можливістю продовження. Наша пропозиція, узгоджена з партнерами, – 30 днів. Ми готові до цього. Також ми готові до зустрічі на рівні лідерів для розв’язання ключових питань. Україна не боїться прямих переговорів із Росією, і важливо, щоб керівництво Росії не затягувало війну.

Міністр закордонних справ України Андрій Сибіга та керівник Офісу Андрій Єрмак доповіли про зустрічі й контакти з представниками США і європейськими партнерами – представниками Франції, Британії, Німеччини, Італії, Польщі й Туреччини. Андрій Єрмак представив позиції ключових країн. Координуємось із партнерами практично в щоденному режимі. Вдячний за підтримку.

Доручив сформувати постійну розширену національну переговорну групу.

I held a meeting on our diplomatic efforts to end the war and to establish a real and durable peace.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, reported on the work of our delegation and the negotiation process in Türkiye. The meetings on May 15–16 showed the world both our commitment to advancing peace and, at the same time, the necessity of pressuring Russia in order to stop the war.

In fact, the most significant outcome of the meetings was the agreement to conduct a prisoner exchange in a 1,000-for-1,000 format. Our team is currently working through the details of the exchange. I am grateful to everyone who is contributing to this effort.

Rustem Umerov, the head of the delegation in Türkiye, reported on the specific details of their conversation with the Russians. The Ukrainian delegation succeeded in keeping the talks in a dignified manner. All Russian attempts to issue threats were rejected. Ukraine insists on the need for a full and unconditional ceasefire in order to save human lives and to establish the necessary foundation for diplomacy. Such a ceasefire must be long enough and include the possibility of extension. Our proposal, shared by our partners, is 30 days — we are ready for this. We are also prepared for a meeting at the level of leaders to solve the key issues. Ukraine is not afraid of direct talks with Russia, and it is important that the Russian leadership not prolong the war.

Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, and the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, reported on meetings and contacts with representatives of the United States and European partners — specifically representatives of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Türkiye. Andriy Yermak presented the positions of the key countries. We are coordinating with our partners on an almost daily basis. I am grateful for the support.

I have given instructions to form a permanent, expanded national negotiation group.
